DisCo 2015 conference reflection

From June 22nd to June 24th I attended DisCo conference in Prague for the fourth time. I regularly go to this conference to meet international professionals in the field of educational technology from all around the world and to learn about the newest trends and research outcomes. This year again there were experts from many countries such as Spain, Austria, Poland, Hungary, and Kosovo to name a few.

We could hear many interesting contributions about iPads in education, ePortfolio use, data mining and data security and about Open Badges.

Me and my collegue Pavel Brebera presented our two-year experience of using badges in language teaching and learning at the University of Pardubice with relation to our Moodle courses, Mahara ePortfolio and Open Badge Passport/Veriod integration.

We also learnt about the state of the art of the Open Badges and open credentials from our colleague and collaborator Jakub Stogr

In general I was impressed by the quality of the keynote speakers and by the level of the conference organisation and networking not speaking of the conference venue Paralelní Polis
